As we grow, we are changing and evolving. There might be things you don't know about yourself or paid attention to. Try this and maybe it will help you learn more about yourself and appreciate yourself more...
I stumbled upon this idea on tiktok ( I can't find the girl's video or account but I'll make sure to credit her when I do find her) but she did it using Canva. Inspired by the idea, I switched to a more old school approach: my journal :)
In Canva, she removed the background of her picture and placed it in the middle of a blank page. She then proceeded to draw lines from her picture and wrote everything about her: things she enjoyed, words that described her, etc. Examples are things like her favorite color, books or book genre she currently enjoys, hobbies, and so on. She wrote down everything she could think of. The point of it was to show people a way to narrow down a niche for content creation. In doing so, people can create content unique to them and their platform. Which I think is clever because it is more of a self rediscovery exercise that is being used as a tool to lay out the foundation of each person's niche.
Because I journal, I instantly thought it would be a perfect journal entry. I love that I get to keep this in my journal for me to revisit whenever I need inspiration. I wrote the year on it too so I can revisit it years later. I wonder at that time what has changed, what stayed the same, can I still say the same things about me... things like that. It would be interesting I think...
So here's how to do it...
Cut out a picture of yourself.
I used the HP sprocket 2x3" Instant Color Photo Printer but you can you any kind of printer you have. I like this option because HP sprocket photo paper has a sticky back so I could peel and stick it to the page. I found it so convenient. I recommend printing a picture of you as small as you can to make room for all the writing.

2. Peel and stick your picture at the center of your page. Cut and glue your picture if you don't have the peel and stick printer paper. I recommend glue stick because it won't ruin your picture.

3. Draw lines from your picture and for each line write something about you.
This personal development exercise helped me discover new things about myself. I usually don't stop to reflect on myself, my qualities, current interests, etc. Maybe you can relate to this too. This exercise helped me do a little soul searching and it is a great journal entry. Maybe it can be a part of a quarterly or mid-year check-in. It would be interesting to see the evolution and growth.
I hope this inspired you to try something new...
Happy Writing!
🧡Sincerely, Balie
